Masjid Al-Qiblatayn

It holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims because it was the site where the qibla was changed from Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Masjid al-Haram.

The verses were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) while he was praying the Dhuhr prayer, causing the prayer to be split into two parts—one facing the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the other facing the Masjid al-Haram.

This change was in compliance with the command of Allah, as stated in the Quran:
"We see the turning of your face towards the heaven, so We will surely turn you to a qibla that you will be pleased with. So turn your face toward the Masjid al-Haram, and wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:144)

The mosque is a bright white structure located in the western part of Medina and was also known as the Mosque of Banu Salama.
