Mountain Uhud
Mount Uhud, located north of Medina, witnessed the Battle of Uhud in the third year of Hijrah, where 70 companions, including Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib, were martyred. The Muslims initially gained victory, but the archers' disobedience allowed Khalid ibn al-Walid, a non-Muslim at this time , to flank them, leading to their loss.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned Mount Uhud in a hadith: "Mount Uhud loves us, and we love it, and it is one of the mountains of Paradise." Nearby is the Martyrs' Cemetery, which holds the graves of the companions martyred during the Battle of Uhud, like Hamza and Mus'ab ibn Umair are buried.
